Tell Bud Light: Remove your Sponsorship from Ted Nugent Concert
Update #2: Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch InBev are responding with the following statement.
Independent wholesalers occasionally implement local marketing efforts on behalf of our brands without our involvement or knowledge, as was the case in this instance. Diversity and inclusion are at the core of everything that we do, and the personal views expressed by this artist do not reflect those of our company. The wholesaler has agreed to cease promotion of this event.
Update #1: As of 11:00 AM on August 3rd, Bud Light has erased all evidence regarding their sponsorship of Nugent. Please sign the petition to ensure that Bud Light clarifies their termination of a partnership with Nugent due to his hateful rhetoric.
This Saturday, Bud Light is sponsoring a scheduled performance by a known extremist: National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent.
In addition to being an adamant opponent of sensible gun laws, Nugent regularly makes headlines with his racist, misogynist, and threatening statements. In July 2013, Nugent said “The Black Problem” in America could be solved if African-Americans put their “heart and soul into being honest” and “law-abiding.” On January 17, 2014, he called President Barack Obama a “subhuman mongrel” and “chimpanzee.”1 In 2016 alone, Nugent has promoted anti-semitic, racist, and misogynistic content on his Facebook page. 2
Bud Light Concerts & Limelight Eventplex are giving Nugent a platform to spread his hate as part of their Bud Light Concert Series.
